The Intensely Delayed Profile~
So, this is pretty delayed...*bows profusely* but, here is the run down :D
* Grade/major:
This fall I am a transfered Sophomore, and come spring will be a Junior. As for my major, I'm undecided as of now, however, leaning towards Microbiology :3
* Hobbies
I enjoy doodling, however we have a fluctuating relationship. At times, it seems I can constantly churn out really good people or good hands or feet or whatever it is I'm working on at a specific time. Then, suddenly, nothing I draw seems to look good! I can be seen drawing on anything from paper towels to backs of used homework to scraps card board. I have been told, and tell others, that if you like to draw or doodle it is good to practice, practice, practice-- much like anything else in life.
I also like reading; mostly fiction novels-- some of my all time favorites are, J.K Rowling's Harry Potter Series, Laurel K Hamilton's Anita Blake Series, and Steve Szilagyi's Photographing Fairies. I also love love *insert huge heart here* LOVE Japanese, Chinese, and Korean comics. Books are just a great escape and allow imagination and creativity to flow in boundless glory--
* Other activities, current or past (work, clubs, etc.)
I have a second job; I work at the Waikiki Red Mango on Lewers Street. Just as at Club Charm, I get to constantly meet wonderfully interesting people--and some of them I actually get to work with! My co-workers and I influence ourselves and hopefully influence guests in positive, enthusiastic ways with our unabashed smiles and great tasting yogurt* [*which is my personal opinion, come by and I'll give you a sample and you can discover it too :D]
I am a graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy and while I was there, I loved doing community service-- I assisted with the annual Science Symposium that introduces girls to various Science and Mathematical degrees, careers, and jobs; My friends and I also started up the Japanese Anime Club, [JAC] which tries to explore the social culture in Japan, specifically the Anime-Manga Otaku, [Ko]Gal, and Gothic-Lolita sub-cultures, shares various drawing techniques, learn how to use coloring methods and technologies like Copix markers, water color pencils, and Photoshop CS.
Then during the summer, I would volunteer at the Kaimuki Community Park as a Jr. Leader, who's job it was to assist Leaders in keeping the children active and maintaining somewhat a relative form of peace. Oh-ho-ho~ so much energy!
* Why you joined Club Charm
After coming to the first couple of meetings and hearing more about what Violet is in the process of bringing to the select girls who join Club Charm, I found myself curious to see how things would pan out. I believe that the curriculum that Club Charm offers, coupled with the Activity Workshops, presents a wonderfully well rounded slice of life that many girls may be missing out on as they are being carted around from one sports activity to the next musical activity. What Club Charm offers is something that may sometimes be buried under other seemingly more important tasks. The more I'm getting to know Violet, her vision and the other CC Interns, the more I am glad that I joined this wonderfully exciting adventure.
* Mantra &/or personal philosophy
When things seem to be overwhelming or distressing "And this too shall pass" is something that seems to assuage my frustration and allow me to continue on with whatever it I'm doing.
* What it means to be a leader
• aggression to tackle underlying problems and undesirable conditions
• bravery to admit that they may be wrong and some revisions are in order
• charm and charisma to help calm and enable others to warm up to prospective ideas
• confidence in knowing when you should lead and when you should follow
• courage to ask for help from those who have the most correct knowledge
• flexibility to allow thoughts to be heard and discussed
• friends and allies with whom the leaders have a base
• passivity being the object of action rather than causing action
• tact and sensitivity regarding each new situation that arises
• understanding responsibilities and consequences
Everyone has one, two or all of these traits within themselves, but being able to utilize these qualities--a leader needs to know how to follow before they can lead
