Tanya Nguyen's Page

Hello there :)

My name is Tanya Nguyen. I am a class of 2009 alumni of Moanalua High School. I am currently a Freshmen at University of Hawaii at Manoa. I am studying to get my Doctorate in Kinesiology.

I have danced ballet for ten years, but unfortunately I discontinued it because of my schedule. I have been playing piano for about thirteen years now and I plan on continuing piano till I get old. I've always enjoyed playing sports and I spend my weekends swimming or just working out at the gym.

I was a part of the Moanalua high school's Water Polo and Swim team. I was captain for the water polo team my senior year. I was the head manager for the Moanalua High School's Boys' Basketball team. I've done community service as a big sister for the Big Brother Big Sister Association. On Tuesday's and Thursday's, I taught piano for toddlers at the Pacific School of Music and was a part-time secretary.

I enjoy: watching football with the boys on Sunday's, hanging out with friends, throwing barbecues, staying home and watching movies, spending time with my siblings, enjoying my boyfriend's company, going to yoga sessions at the gym, taking relaxing walks and watching the sunset, having deep meaningful talks with others, learning new things, baking sweets, watching: ABC, USA, Foodnetwork, and Style networks, playing the piano late at night, swimming, playing water polo, reading the Twilight Saga, singing, dancing, making funny comments, traveling, and making people's day better :)

I joined club charm because I wanted to be a part of a change. Club charm is made to make a difference and I wanted to be a part of that. The people of Club Charm are great and as the club grows, we do as well. Working with the girls, I learn everyday and I enjoy coming and being at Club Charm. Being with Club Charm, not only will I be making a difference for the girls, the girls and the club will be making a difference for me.

Being a leader, is having the ability to want to make a difference. Being able to guide and pull a whole group together up the steps. Helping others, as well as yourself, face fears together. A leader is someone who always finds the bright side of bad situations and wants nothing more than for others to succeed.

My personal mantra/philosophy is: "Accept what you got because it could be worse."
